Writing about an achievement - Autobiographical What is an Autobiographical Narrative?  Write about a major achievement in your life. You say what the achievement is and give a very brief description in your topic sentence. Describe the time you first became interested in it. What was your skill level achievement,  describe a time when you experienced difficulty or setback and how did you use this setback to grow ? What benefits did you experience as a result? Include in the story,  topic sentence,  description, example and use colours.

LIFE IN TAKIKAWA    Ideas; Becoming more independent, Moving to Takikawa, Discovering new things,  Living alone; Visiting local places.   Summarize your composition with a photograph.  Task 1 – The challenges of living alone .   Write about the challenges of living alone and make comparisons to your high school days. Things to consider: living expenses, cleaning, cooking, shopping, roommates, privacy, time management, what surprised you? Things you miss about home,  Challenges.   LIFE IN TAKIKAWA:  In this task you will write about  becoming more independent, moving to Takikawa, discovering new things, living alone; visiting local places.  Students should summarize their composition with a photograph.  Plan your composition using notes.  (When you use notes you do not need to write sentences.) Spend about 20 -30 minutes planning  before you begin writing. 

Four main types of writing

There are four main types of writing: expository, persuasive, narrative, and descriptive. Expository – Writing in which author’s purpose is to inform or explain the subject to the reader. Persuasive – Writing that states the opinion of the writer and attempts to influence the reader.   Narrative – Writing in which the author tells a story. The story could be fact or fiction. Descriptive – A type of expository writing that uses the five senses to paint a picture for the reader. This writing incorporates imagery and specific details.
